You have seen Ope and Ufuoma’s white wedding previously. This is their traditional wedding photographs. This was the first day I met Ope and Ufuoma whom I have come to call Black Ops and UFO. 😉
This lovely Urhobo wedding took place in Port Harcourt and it was an amazingly colourful and culture rich experience as you know a Nigerian Traditional Wedding usually is. I have come to make some great friends from this wedding that I will appreciate and keep for a long time to come.
Weddings are a fun experience and the interaction of families on this day can be an interesting thing to watch. These two family were interested in bonding and your could see it in their smiles and backslapping, in their negotiations and their deep throat-ed laughter.
Watch this tradition as it joined Ufuoma and Ope together in this beautiful Nigerian Wedding Story.
The day began with Ufuoma doing her makeup while I went about trying to charm everyone to love the camera
In her first attire, Ufuoma was all smiles as she gazed into the future with Ope.
This was her third attire. I remember feeling that we changed too much in Nigeria, I look forward to posting a Moroccan wedding where the bride changes 7 times before seeing her groom.
Ufuoma was escorted to her husband and the drama began…
This is all it takes to marry a woman in those parts…
Once it is paid, the woman is presented to her grooms family to know if she is the one they want then she is asked if she wants to marry the groom. Once she says yes, there is rejoicing and a lot of spraying of money…
