I have always loved black and white pictures. The timelessness it brings to a photograph is perfect. I have wondered if a couple will be willing to have their entire photographs rendered in black and white and i am still wondering.Trying to test my belief I decided to blog this entire wedding in black and white and the result was amazing as I went on.
Osahon and Chicago’s wedding was a perfect candidate for this as we had taken some beautiful photographs at this wedding and here is the result.
The result of having these photographs rendered in black and white enabled me to have some of this beautiful photographs look as pure as art.
This moment was epic. It looked like this man was seeing a maiden and her beauty held him speechless.
There were a lot of beautiful maidens that day, but none was more radiant than Chiago. Our bride was beautiful and calmly so. The groom was a combination of swag and cool. Surrounded by his friends who helped him out in the little duties, he kept his mind focused on the big task ahead.
Another of my favourites at this wedding. This photograph told it all about the preparation to enter into the church.
When Osahon said I do, he said it without wavering. His stare was strong and straight into the eyes of the woman he loves. I do take thee to be my lawful wedded wife, to have and to hold he said.
Chiago was also calm and collected about her words, “till death do us part” she said confidently.
So I had shared this photograph on my instagram page in its colour form but it was magical when i looked at the black and white of it. Another of my favourites. This photographs was epic in the way it showed the cross pointing the way to the couple. My groom and his best man looking confident and solid. We had a great couples session with the couple and got some excellent shots in the little time allocated. And this is another of my favourites from that session. Much as it was clear to me that editing in black and white will always make a photograph beautiful there are somethings that just must be represented in colour for their beauty to show. So here we have the reception shown in colour. The venue, The City Hall, Lagos Island was beautifully decorated with awesome lighting. And as the couple danced in ushered in by the bridesmaids, you could see they loved what they saw. They were all smiles at the fact that they were surrounded by their friends and family for this historic occassion. And soon afterwards the joy began to break forth after the serious business of church. and it was all dance, dance and more dancing from then onwards. I love this cake. Not just the look of it, the taste of it was sumptuous. I was not the only one though………….There were a lot of culprits in this cake matter. I always love father daughter dances for no other reason than…… this!! When the groom comes and takes her away from her father. Its almost like saying, I have paid, oga go and dance with your wife. This is my wife. I love this photograph. It says it all. And this too. I love the look on Osahon’s face. Peace, passion. Then look at how this two looked into each others eyes, and how Osahon held Chiago like, this is mine. I love the lighting in this hall. The lighting expert here knew his job. Beautiful up-lighting work. I will recommend this anytime because not a lot of people understand how to do this.
I normally do the bride about to throw the bouquet, the lady who catches the bouquet or the group of people who tear apart the poor flower arrangement. This time we captured the bouquet in flight and the expectation in everyones eyes as they waited to pounce. After those ceremonies, it was back to dance, dance and dance again. We had fun here. It was a beautiful time with this couple and their friends as you can see. Whats your take on the black and white route?
