Ayo and Tolu Falola: Love and Lights at the Sheraton

I met Ayo donkey years ago and frankly while we are not the kind of friends that hang out and visit each other everyday, Ayo is one true friend I have. One whom I see and hug and am grateful he is there. Ayo’s word is solid gold. Trust me you can take it to the bank anyday and get value.

Tolu? I have never met Tolu until this shoot and to be sincere, I think I love her more than I do Ayo. She was just one  easy going, free beautiful young lady and she obviously has such a good heart.

On this occassion, I decided to be daring and that is exactly what I was. I shoved aside my flash, and shot this entire series with just my canon 5D Mk II and my Canon 70-200mm USM IS II Lens. At times i had to crank up the ISO settings to ungodly levels but then what i was creating here were photographs and not pictures. I was writing with light and was determined to use just the available light around to complete my task. What made it most daunting was that this shoot started way past 7pm and ended close to 830pm at night. The best photographers in Lagos, Nigeria will tell you that was like committing murder. This shoot was done at the Lagos, Sheraton Hotels in Ikeja.

Yea! And i got away with it :). Watch the pictures unfold below and please drop your opinion on the comments column.

    Great work dude,

I’ve always believed in avoiding to use a flash when i can, only then can you get something as real as you have here.

I wouldn’t have believed you didn’t use flash if you hadn’t mention it. It actually worked! I particularly love the shot with the legs / feet only AND the very last shot. Some of the pictures looked grainy, but most of them were fine.ReplyCancel

    Nice shots!

After the first four sets however, the pixels begin to show, but then again with the extra pixels that the 5D Mark II give you, you can get away with if you crank it up to the available 21mp.

    I like your photos.ReplyCancel
