The Exotic Protea Hotel Wedding

Efe and Oyin had a unique wedding.

Their signature was on their day and this is something you do not find easily in Nigerian weddings.

You will notice that the pictures are built around the groom. This was the express instruction of the bride who wanted her pictures to start from when she was fully dressed contrary to the popular culture.

You will also notice something only a daring groom will do. He walked to church.

There was uniqueness in the whole day and this yielded some beautiful pictures.

Just see these photographs…….

When the  night breaks into morn.

and the circle of love ushers in a new dawn  Separating the night from the day. While on your bed you lay and to you they say It is your day of love Smile and be joyful for the light of love illuminates you.  As thou preparest And as the day begins in earnest Be thou focused on one thing alone The reason this day is special Love. As you take your first steps On a journey you cannot predict Realize, some days will be hot Some days fought Some days you will be alone But when you remember the reason for this day Love Then step out and be glad For of all things Love lasts for ever.  And together You will reach for the stars and take them Together you will smile and be glad
Together, helping each other, you will find peace and harmony.  knowledge and understanding A knowledge of each other understanding that teaches tolerance and usher in bliss. As you walk into the future hand in hand Even when friends are missing Or not Together you will reach your destination Finally………………Mirth!

There was something about Efe and Oyin that inspired the poet in me.  I cannot say what exactly.

Was going to ask where the poetry came from, until I saw your last comment. There is something open and clear about the bride in particular. Not hidden under too much stuff. I liked your capture of the wedding.ReplyCancel

Akara, I cannot say either what inspired all the poetry on your part, but the pictures speak a lot about the personality of the couple and the depth of their affection for each other. I have never seen a groom walking to church and I was quite impressed. At some point, I forgot it was a wedding and thought it was the honeymoon or a private party. You did an awesome job of capturing this couple’s special day, and I particularly liked how you told the story from the groom’s perspective.ReplyCancel
